چکیده

7 Persistent scatterers synthetic aperture radar interferometry (PSI) analysis is viewed as a 8 promising monitoring technique for multiyear detection of ground surface displacements 9 during long term CO2 injection into deep aquifers (of the order of 25 to 50 years). 10 This technique was successfully utilized at the CO2 storage site of In-Salah (Algeria). 11 Nevertheless, this success may not be generalized to future onshore industrial-scale CO2 12 storage sites, which are planned in far more complex contexts mostly presenting natural 13 terrains, either agricultural or vegetated areas, i.e. characterized by poor PS density, which 14 might locally drop to zero, hence hampering the deployment of the PSI technique. The 15 objective of the present paper is to discuss the constraints on the PSI application regarding the 16 specificities (magnitude, spatial or temporal scales and evolution) of the deformation 17 phenomenon associated with the CO2 injection into storage aquifers. This discussion is 18 supported by the estimates of the expected spatio-temporal evolution of surface vertical 19 displacements caused by CO2 injection in deep aquifers by combining the approximate 20 solutions for pressure build-up and for the associated vertical displacements in an elastic half21 1 Corresponding author. A Data Focusing method for Microwave Imaging of Extended Targets

This paper presents a data focusing method (DFM) to image extended targets using the multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm. The restriction on the number of transmitter-receiver antennas in a microwave imaging system deteriorates profiling an extended target that comprises many point scatterers. Under such situation, the subspace-based linear inverse scattering methods, like the MUSI...

Persistent bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) infection in cattle herds

Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) is a significant pathogen associated with gastrointestinal, respiratory, and reproductive diseases of cattle worldwide. It causes continuous economic losses to the cattle industry primarily due to decreased reproductive performance. The ability of virus to cross the placenta during early pregnancy can result in the birth of persistently infected (PI) calves. P...

Coherent vs. Persistent Scatterers: A Case Study

In this paper a comparison between two typologies of point-like scatterers in SAR images, named Persistent Scatterers (PSs) and Coherent Scatterers (CSs) is proposed. The PSs are detected through the analysis of large stack of data, implying their temporal stability, and have been principally used for SAR interferometric applications. Differently, CSs are detected in single SAR images through t...

Context and Quasi-Invariants in ATR with SAR Imagery

This analysis of XPatch synthesized SAR images shows promising results on existence of persistent scatterers and their measurement in XPatch imagery. Preliminary results based on persistent scat-terers and a generic vehicle model demonstrate estimation of vehicle orientation to about 3 degrees, length between wheels to about 30 cm, and estimating number of wheels, without knowledge of vehicle c...
